One of the popular and favorite costumes for children's parties is the image of an Indian. This brave, courageous and independent man has been the hero of many books and films for many decades.

It’s very easy to create a spectacular outfit for this character with your own hands and using available materials that are found in every home. In the simplest and most budget version, the main component of the costume is an ordinary painted T-shirt, a spectacular headdress and beads made from one popular hand-made food product - pasta.

REFERENCE! The headdress (roach) consists of a large number of vertical feathers.

What you will need

The materials used can be varied and depend on the imagination of the author. In the process of making a costume, you may need the following materials:

  • T-shirt and pants;
  • fringe or material from which it can be made;
  • pasta of various shapes, but with a hole for the passage of braid;
  • fabric paints or markers and food coloring;
  • brush;
  • scissors;
  • feathers;
  • cardboard;
  • glue and others.

Preparation stages

This type of suit is not without reason called one of the easiest to make. The fact is that the main part of it doesn’t even need to be sewn. Any plain T-shirt, preferably in grey, brown or beige, is perfect. Girls should wear a t-shirt tunic and boys should wear matching pants. Beautiful and even stripes are simply cut along the edge of the hem and the edge of the sleeves. But on the side of the pants you can sew pre-purchased fringe. You can also complicate your task by including a historical component in this clothing. You should study the features of ancient symbols and decorate things with them. This is easy to do using acrylic paints or fabric markers.

ATTENTION! A tunic for a girl can also be made from an ordinary pillowcase. To do this, just cut holes in it for the neck and arms.

An important accessory for a real Indian is massive beads. This is where pasta comes in handy. They can be effectively colored using food coloring. To do this, pasta is poured into a jar and paint is added. Then they should be shaken a little and placed on a baking sheet so that they do not stick together. Next, simply string the pasta onto a cord or elastic band. For greater realism, you can add multi-colored feathers, small wooden decorations or coins. It is better to fix the color of the pasta with clear varnish.

IMPORTANT! Making a roach is also not difficult. To do this, a hoop is made from cardboard slightly larger than the circumference of the child’s head. A circle of red cardboard or colored paper is placed in the center. This is a kind of symbol of the sun. Next, purchase or homemade feathers are attached.

Creating and combining elements into a costume

A couple of accessories will help add completeness and integrity to the look. So, you can give a boy a bow and arrows, and for a girl you can make a couple of bracelets from cardboard or leather. The basis for the bow can be a flexible branch or twig. They are treated with varnish and the ends are secured with tape. For greater realism, faces are painted with special paints for face painting or ordinary shadows and pencils from a cosmetic bag are used. The most suitable colors are brown, white and red.

This type of outfit is one of the easiest and fastest to make. All materials used can be found in your own home. We hope that this article was informative and will help you make an unusual and colorful costume for the holiday.

So, I’ll tell you in detail about how this headdress was created. The whole process took a day and a half, mostly because I had to wait for the glue to dry. I didn't want to mess around.

Full list of what we need:

  • 1 sheet of A4 paper
  • Scissors
  • Hole puncher
  • Black felt
  • Approximately 60 feathers
  • Neck thread
  • Pliers to break wooden sticks
  • Colorful turkey feathers
  • Stapler
  • Volumetric paints
  • Feather boa

1. Prepare the base of the headdress

We will need

  • 1 sheet of A4 paper
  • 2 sheets of A4 size polypropylene fabric
  • Scissors
  • Glue (fast-setting and reliable)
  • Hole puncher
  • Grommet Installation Tool
  • Black felt

1. Fold an A4 sheet of paper in half and draw a figure like this on it (similar to a shark fin, only more strongly curved). Cut out this shape and you will get something like a crescent moon.

2. Try on this crescent moon. I think this size will fit most heads, it should go around your head and the ends will be at your temples.

3. If the size suits you, place the cut out figure on a sheet of polypropylene fabric and cut out the figure from it. If you need a larger size, you should use other sizes of paper and fabric. Do this procedure twice so that you have two crescent-shaped sheets of fabric. Don't worry if your outfit is a little too big.

4. Use a hole punch to make holes in each corner and insert grommets. Lay the sheets on top of each other and make sure the holes line up.

5. Cut two rectangles of felt and glue them to the sides of ONE crescent moon. This is necessary in order to slightly increase the size of the base. We'll need another crescent moon later.

6. Try the resulting design on your head and cut off 5-6 centimeters from the top, as a result it will no longer be a crescent.

2. Prepare the feathers

You will need:

  • Approximately 60 feathers
  • Black felt
  • Neck thread
  • Scissors
  • Several wooden sticks for canapés
  • Pliers to break wooden sticks

1. (Optional, this step was performed so that the resulting decoration would look larger) Take the canapé sticks and apply a little glue to their “sharp” tip. After that, insert them into the bases of the feathers (you may have to trim the feathers at the bottom a little to make the entrance hole larger). Do this for all feathers.

2. Set the feathers aside. Cut small rectangles of felt, approximately 8x12 cm, according to the number of feathers used.
3. Apply a good amount of glue to one side of each rectangle (as in the photo below) and wrap the fabric around the feather. After this, apply glue to the other side of the fabric and thus fix the fabric.

4. Hold the fabric and wrap it tightly with thread. You will need to first make a knot at the base, leaving enough thread to wrap around the surface and make a second knot at the other end of the fabric.

3. Making the main frame

Required:

  • Both previously made figures are made of polypropylene fabric
  • Prepared feathers
  • Needle and thread
  • Small turkey feathers
  • Stapler

1. Place the feathers (made in step 2) on the base (made in step 1), distributing them in height. Ideally, the tallest feathers should be in the center, and the shorter feathers on the sides to form the correct shape of the Indian headdress. The felt elements glued to the feathers should fit tightly from above to the base.

2. Glue the feathers to the base; in this case, the glue was applied with a brush. The feathers were also wrapped with thread for additional fixation. Pay attention to how the feathers are located - they are directed left and right, each in its own direction. You will have to carefully place them in the right directions.

3. Glue all the feathers and cut off the sticks sticking out from the bottom.

4. To secure the design, add more glue and add a few extra, shorter feathers to the side felt rectangles we glued in step 1. These feathers do not require wooden sticks.

6. Add more glue and cover the resulting structure with a second sheet of polypropylene fabric. Let them dry for a couple of hours; to securely fix them, place weights, such as books, on top of them.

7. Once the glue has dried, place small turkey feathers on the top side and arrange them however you like. There were only white and black feathers available, so it was decided to place the white ones on the bottom and the black ones on top. By the same principle, long feathers were located in the center, and short ones at the edges. They can be glued or stapled.

8. Go over the feathers with scissors to give them a base shape.

4. Create a decorative bandage

Required:

  • Scissors
  • Black felt
  • Neck thread
  • Volumetric paints
  • Red thread (decorated with splashes is used here)
  • Feather boa

1. At this step the headpiece is almost finished. Thread the threads through the hole with the eyelets, pull them together on your head, and look in the mirror. The empty space between the headband and your forehead (this depends on the size of your forehead and how high you plan to wear the headband) will form the required headband size.

2. Cut a small piece of felt fabric. I got a size of 6 centimeters in height and 50 cm in length.

3. Measure two centimeters from the top and bottom and draw triangles

4. Create the desired design using 3D paints and let dry overnight. Use a hairdryer to make the colors even more voluminous and create the illusion of beads.

5. For the round elements on the sides, cut out 4 circles from felt, slightly larger in size than the width of the headband.

6. Sew feathers or anything else that seems suitable to you on one side of the two circles. In this case, decorative threads are sewn on to give some color. The main task now is to create some chaos here. Don't worry if it looks untidy, but reinforce all elements with glue.

7. On the remaining two circles, draw 4 intersecting lines (as in the photo above) and connect the dots to make a star.

8. You can use voluminous paints or thread to decorate the star. Due to lack of time, thread was used in this case.

5. Connect the headdress with the bandage

1. Attach the headband to the front frame of the headdress using glue and thread

2. Glue 2 circles (with feathers and threads) onto the headband. Reinforce with threads.

3. Glue circles with stars on top of these circles.

4. Shorten the bandage and the dress is ready!

I hope you found this instruction helpful. This method is suitable for creating any headdress with feathers.

The sari is a traditional national dress; its history has developed along with Indian civilization itself. There have always been many legends around the sari, so there is still no reliable information about the origin of the costume.

According to one legend, a sari is a gift from the gods that saved the wife of an ancient ruler from shame

Such an outfit, unusual for Europeans, but completely familiar to Indian women, at all times provided maximum comfort, and also emphasized femininity and grace. It is for this reason that such clothes are still held in high esteem among the indigenous women of India.

Sarees can be found everywhere in India: from small villages to large cities.

Sewing an Indian dress is a simple matter. After all, a traditional Indian sari is nothing more than a piece of fabric no less than 7-9 meters long.

Indian saris unwound

The first saris consisted of two pieces of fabric: the first was wrapped around the woman's hips, and the second was wrapped around the chest, like a top. Later, the evolution of the national costume made its own adjustments, after which the Indian sari became a single piece. This dress does not have a single seam; the only thing that is allowed is to elegantly secure the sari with a hairpin.

It's hard to believe, but this outfit consists of one piece of fabric

Indian women wore the first dresses directly on their naked bodies, but during colonial times a more practical tradition arose of wearing an underskirt and a top called a choli under the sari.

The petticoat and choli deserve the title of an independent outfit

One of the main traditions that continues today is the fact that saris can be made exclusively by men - representatives of the revered weaver caste in India. Special looms of colossal size were installed on the field, dug halfway into the ground. It took at least six months to produce one high-quality canvas. After this, the fabric was dyed, using only natural dyes of animal, vegetable or mineral origin.

Fabric selection and patterns

The first thing you need to do before you start sewing an outfit is to choose the right fabric. In ancient times, looking at an Indian sari, one could learn without words about its owner many interesting facts: whether the girl was married or not, her wealth and belonging to a certain caste. Such traditions continue to this day in many regions of India.

The appearance of a sari can say a lot

Advice!

When choosing fabric for a sari, it is better to give preference to cotton, chiffon, and organza. The most expensive fabric for a sari is Mysore silk.

Expensive saris made from high-quality fabric look very rich

There is only one rule: the fabric for a sari should be natural, because the garment is multi-layered, and in the hot season a woman should experience a certain comfort. Synthetics do not allow the skin to breathe, as a result, such clothes bring nothing but inconvenience. Why should you pay attention to “flying fabrics”?

  • The main advantage of Indian attire is its extraordinary drapery.
  • The soft fabric easily falls and flows, emphasizing the advantages and hiding the flaws of the figure.
  • Lightweight translucent fabrics easily take the desired shape.
A girl in a sari should look light and free
The fabric should be pleasant even on a naked body.

For a long time, such an outfit was monochromatic, because the color and ornament of the robe could also tell a lot about a woman in a sari. For example, widows wore a white dress, brides wore a red outfit with gold ornaments, and young mothers wore a bright yellow sari and wore such a dress for seven days.

European women most often perceive a sari simply as an original outfit and do not put much meaning into it

Today, both calm and monochromatic shades and fireworks of colors are welcomed. As for the decoration of the outfit, its main aesthetic advantage was the edging and pallu. The edging in the form of embroidery or sewn patterned ribbon runs along the edges of the canvas.

The border of the sari is usually decorated with traditional Indian designs.

The pallu is the most beautiful part of the dress. This is the very edge of the canvas that gracefully hangs from the shoulder of the Indian fashionista.

The pallu of a bright Indian sari is its main decoration

The pallu was necessarily decorated with hand embroidery, beads, glass beads, and precious stones. When walking, this part of the robe fluttered gently and gracefully in the wind, and the pattern shimmered in the bright rays of the sun. Indian women naturally have excellent taste and skillfully combine colors in their outfits, gracefully emphasizing their main advantages.

The pallu of a wedding sari is often decorated with precious stones

Sew choli

Before you start making an Indian outfit, you need to remember that under the sari you must wear a choli - a lower blouse-top. Despite its simple appearance, this element of the costume adds a certain charm and elegance.

To sew a choli, you will need a fabric such as jersey, panvelvet, velvet or any easily stretchable fabric. The top is sewn according to the pattern. It is imperative to adjust the pattern in accordance with individual measurements: from neck to waist, from neck to shoulder, shoulder circumference. The choli pattern is cut on the fabric in the same direction as the stretch of the fabric. First, the back and front elements are sewn together, after which the sleeves are sewn on. Next, the two finished halves of the top are connected and the neckline is adjusted. The choli, at the discretion of the fashionista, can be one-piece or fastened with small buttons. All edges must be hemmed and overlocked. The choli top, as a rule, is not decorated so as not to distract attention from the main garment.

How to sew a sari?

Designer outfits or the services of a good dressmaker is a very expensive project. To create a real Indian celebration of good taste, magic and exoticism, you can sew an incredibly beautiful and original sari with your own hands.

Perhaps every fashionista can make a beautiful sari with her own hands.

In order for the result to exceed all expectations, you must adhere to a step-by-step algorithm that will help you work on your outfit:

Advice!

Slender girls should opt for airy silk, glossy satin or transparent organza; those with “appetizing” shapes should prefer more matte fabrics.

  • If the fabric does not have a processed border, then it is necessary to process the edges of the fabric itself so that the threads do not fray in the future. The threads for processing the edge of the cut should be the same color as the fabric.
  • To hem the edges, use a double hem. To do this, you need to carefully and evenly along the entire length of the fabric, first bend the fabric 0.5 centimeters and iron it. After this, bend and iron again so that the sloppy edge is hidden in the bend. Then we mark the distance of the folds 15 centimeters from each other and secure with pins. We sew a seam along the edge of the folds, carefully removing the pins so as not to damage the fabric. The result should be a regular rectangle.

Double hem on machine

  • We sew a patterned border along the edge of the cut. You can do the embroidery yourself, or you can buy ready-made braid embroidered with gold threads.
  • To make a pallu, you need to stitch the fabric on the right side, thereby marking the place where the sari will be decorated. It is this part of the robe that will gracefully fall from the shoulder.
  • We sew the underskirt. The pattern for the petticoat is a standard half-sun. The skirt can be secured at the waist with braid, elastic or ribbon. Its length is usually 3-5 centimeters shorter than a sari. A plain cotton fabric is ideal as a base. The color of the skirt can be consistent with the tone of the sari or be completely different, creating an interesting contrast.

Half-sun skirt cut

You can use any accessories as decoration: beads, glass beads, seed beads, applique, sequins or hand embroidery. Decorating a sari depends on the imagination and skill of the needlewoman. It is important to remember that at all times the decor of a sari has had a sacred meaning. For example, in some regions of India, the pallu is still traditionally decorated with a small bell, which protects against the evil eye, filth, evil forces and thoughts, preserving the purity of the soul.

You can easily sew a very beautiful sari on your own. For similar masterpieces it is better to go to the homeland of this outfit

A woman dressed in a sari is always feminine, graceful and seductively mysterious. The exoticism of the original dress fills the girl with true beauty, revealing her in a new way to those around her. Knowing the basic rules and sequence of how to sew a sari, you can easily sew it yourself, while creating an exclusive, unique in the whole world, fabulous oriental outfit.

If you want to make an attractive carnival costume for your child, you should definitely pay attention to the Indian costume. It is very important that to sew such an outfit you do not have to have a large budget or have a lot of free time. Let's take a closer look at how you can make an Indian costume with your own hands.

DIY Indian costume

If your child needs a carnival costume for a matinee in kindergarten or school, and there is not much time to make it, you can make a homemade Indian costume. This is an interesting and colorful outfit with lots of details that will surely delight your child.

How to make an Indian costume with your own hands

An Indian costume consists of three parts: the top (in our case, a T-shirt), pants and a headdress, now we will look at each of them in detail. To make a real Indian cape, just take a T-shirt in warm colors (brown, yellow), cut off the thick part from the bottom of the sleeves and carefully cut the sleeves so that the fringe is 3-4 centimeters thick, the same should be done with the bottom of the T-shirt. To prevent the T-shirt from tearing further, you can stitch it in the place where the fringe ends; it is advisable to do this, but not necessary.

Next you should make the collar, it is made from real feathers, fabric or paper. Cut a circle out of fabric, it will be the basis of our collar, feathers are sewn to it, and a fabric with teeth is placed on top, with which we can secure the tips of the feathers; the fastener can be made with Velcro or in any other way. Also, it is necessary to sew ribbons with patterns on the upper part of the collar and on the cuffs, with them the suit will look more elegant and complete.

You can make a headdress in the same way; it is worth remembering that hair can get tangled in the Velcro and cause your child unnecessary discomfort, so you should just make it with a tie. To make the bottom of the suit, take trousers of the same color as the T-shirt and sew fringe on the outer seams; you can wear brown shoes or moccasins on your feet.

As you can see, sewing an Indian carnival costume with your own hands is not at all difficult, but it will look unfinished until you make additional accessories. These can be a variety of bracelets made of fabric, leather or paper and decorated with beads, feathers and thread tassels; a real Indian should have a bow and arrows in his hands. Do not forget that each element of the costume should have something in common, in our case it is a ribbon with a pattern; sew it on a headdress, shirt and pants and the outfit will look like one whole. When your DIY Indian costume is finally ready, you should think about makeup. As paint, you can use theatrical makeup or ordinary shadows of dark shades of brown; you should apply “war paint” after the child puts on the costume. As you can see, to make a funny carnival costume you just need to use a little imagination.

Below you can see drawings that will help you make an original Indian costume with your own hands

And also photos from which you can get ideas for making a costume with your own hands.

Hello everybody! This is my first time writing here. I don’t want this kind of work to disappear into oblivion! Let everyone see =) I immediately apologize for my “bourgeois”, because... I don’t know the names of some things, I can’t write them very correctly. And for the drawings - I didn’t try very hard and so much time was spent on MK...

And I’ll immediately make a reservation that I am a sling mother and we also went to the parade together. Therefore, everything I did took into account that it was suitable for the possibility of attaching a child.
So. In view of the upcoming Children's Day parade, our city annually celebrates it with a chic carnival. This year its theme is “Children of the World”, i.e. you need to dress up in one of the national costumes. They chose the Indians. At first I was even somewhat upset, because... I don’t really imagine how you can “distinguish yourself” there, but for some reason I really wanted to... In general, after searching on the Internet, I came across shamans and warriors. There were no women among them, but there were beautiful headdresses. So beautiful that not a single woman will pass by: D Like this:

It was decided to make this headdress or Warbonnet. Next I’ll write my ideas, in case they suit someone and they don’t need the MK itself;)
I thought: what am I going to do, I’ll go buy it. Here's what they offer:

These are from 150 to 500 rubles... Well, somehow it didn’t impress me, it doesn’t look like the original at all, and as a woman I want to pass by this... or even run: D In general, pass by. I went further and found this one, for example:

Just what you need! Beautiful, I want to try it on right away! The price is almost 3000 rubles, and it’s still cheap! Epic Power! This is a one time thing to wear!!! O_o
Soooo, I think... Then surely someone has already done this, I’ll go look for MK this miracle, this is what I found:

The video itself shows how to do it (I advise everyone to watch it, I guarantee a good mood! Plus it’s short) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YDWj-h7FbE

Then I found this: It looks better, but there are more problems. Well, not very cheap in my opinion...

link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klM4ROFzfOA

Then I found out how this is actually done:

And here you can see about it in great detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtB6UGxC_hI&list=PLbhbwVVzxrCCmoRKsEXjgIQE0QqiTwhIH&index=1
Well, after this picture it dawned on me! But it’s not that difficult! I’m also the mother of two preschool-aged children, with whom you can’t go shopping, so I looked around and decided to do everything myself from the materials at hand.
So, let's begin.
The first step is to sew a hat. You can take some ready-made one, but I felt sorry for the ready-made one, so I sewed a new one. It is not difficult. Just take a long strip 18-20 cm wide (it’s better to take more, you can always cut off the excess) and as long as your head. You sew it into a cylinder, and after gathering one end, sew it together, something like this:

Just keep in mind that the hat should not be made from just anything, but from the fabric that you will end up with. It is better that it is either black (then you will need to sew a different color on the front if your main color is different, like mine is red) to match the color of your hair, or a different color to match the color of the headdress itself. Mine is red. I sewed from just about anything, so I had to sew another fabric on both the front and back...
Now we put the cap aside, let's get to the fun part! Let's make feathers. Feathers needed: 30 pieces for the front and 15 for the back and + 2 more separately for the back of the head + 4 for the temples (I made them smaller by simply cutting more. For the front you can have fewer feathers, 25 pieces, because I got it very tightly =) But I will describe what I did myself, so recalculate for another number yourself;) So, what we need:

1. Paper with printed or drawn “feathers”. If we arrange 3 pieces per sheet like I do, we get 17 double-sided pages
2. Lined paper into 6 sectors - this is for the “legs” of the feathers - 9 pages
3. Cocktail straws without an accordion - this is for the stem of the pen. You can replace it with rolled paper, but the tubes are easier to attach.
4. A roll of very delicate toilet paper (yes, this hat should not be rinsed in water;)). I have a throat. It's better to have two layers.
5. Stapler and paper clips for it. We will use it a lot - this is the main fastening material :)
6. Glue stick (you can use other glue, but this one is easier). Only needed for gluing the tubes for the feather legs.
7. Felt pen of the desired color. Mine is red.
8. Some kind of cylindrical thing, I have an ordinary children's wax chalk. This is the basis on which we will wind the tubes. Don't take a thin pencil, it won't look very good.
9. Scissors
10. Ruler. Maybe a short one, but it’s not too bad, because... it will smear for a long time =)
Next are the optional materials (what I added to make it clearer):
11. 2 rolls of thread of the desired color (mine is red) and an album or thin book the size of a landscape sheet. This is for pendants on the tips of feathers
12. 2 sheets of printed “marigolds” for caps on the tips of feathers
13. Tiny stones to decorate these ends (I wanted more celebration and sparkle) - 32 pcs. They're such a bummer, they cost 2.5 rubles each! O_o this is the most expensive thing in my roach: D

Begin.
First, cut out all the feathers:

Here are the patterns available for printing (for a black and white printer, otherwise Corel somehow turned the black into blue... but if you have a color printer and you don’t mind it, you can actually make gorgeous colored feathers! ):

Sorry for the radical, I no longer know how to insert a full-size photo...

Then we attach the cocktail tubes (we attach them in 2 places! in the middle, as shown here, and below at the base! I didn’t do this at first, as a result, some feathers “fell out” of the plumage:()

Now let's work on the tubes for the base. In the original, this is a piece of suede or similar fabric, which is wrapped around the shaft of the feather, and thread is wound on top. We will replace this painstaking process with a simple piece of paper with a pattern))
We take a lined sheet, which you can download from here (well, you can line it yourself, there’s nothing complicated here, the main thing is to divide everything equally):

We take a cylindrical object (preferably the same diameter - about a centimeter), twist it tightly around it (doing it in one layer, saving money, is not worth it, due to several turns of paper, this thing takes on a rigid shape). Coat the tip with glue, press it, pull out the pencil (cylindrical object)

We tear off 2 pieces of toilet paper (you can divide it into all the feathers at once, you will get 51 double pieces) and cut one side, making it shorter than the other:

Cut into noodles

And then we connect them again:

Then we bend the tip of the pen barrel and secure it with a stapler

All this is detailed in the video:

Next we sew all the feathers to the hat!
In front, the feathers should be attached with an indentation to the braid, which is 5 centimeters wide. I attached it even higher - 15 centimeters from the edge. As a result, the upper part had to be decorated with additional beads, because... it looked empty. But on the other hand, the feathers lie so well on the head and don’t bristle =) I think it’s worth stepping back 10 centimeters. At the back, do it almost along the edge (but leave about 2 cm so that you can grab onto something to make it comfortable to put on).
Something like this (we sew on where the outline is):

And here is the sewing process itself (though not from the beginning, but I think the principle is clear):

Now we need to connect the feathers into a single frame, we do this with a stapler. At what distance - it’s better to determine by eye (keep in mind that if the feathers are fanned up, you need to fasten part of them closer to the trunk, making it denser), I did it in the middle of the feather:

Further decoration is optional. If only because not all Warbonnets do it. And you can understand why - these pendants are historically hair from the scalp, so to speak, a trophy, hey. But I try not to think about it, I like that it makes my headdress a little brighter, otherwise it’s kind of faded... I need 47 pendants.
To create these pendants, you need to wrap the thread around the book/album 10 times. The length of the pendant will be the same as the album you choose. At the end, we cut one edge and tie the other into a knot to form a bun. All this is attached to the tip of the pen on a stapler. At the end, glue a cut out egg-shaped oval directly on top on both sides (you need 90 of them to glue on both sides). I used the same glue stick. These are the forms (where there are gaps, you need to bend and cut out 2 pieces at once), also available for printing:

Here is an approximate diagram of how to do this:

And at the end, I glued a rhinestone pebble onto this egg-shaped oval on the wide part.

Next, we attach a braid with a geometric pattern purchased in a store (5 cm wide), or make it yourself - best from beads. But I didn’t have that much of it, and in the store it’s kind of expensive... (100 rubles per pack, and I needed 7 colors! Small packs are really cheaper, but still expensive), I couldn’t find ready-made braid , so I decided to embroider from floss (which I just had lying around). I did this: I secured thin cocktail tubes (if you don’t have them, maybe you can find them in stores - I couldn’t find them, so it’s better to replace them with something else, for example, with a wire in such a tube that is not thick, 2 mm somewhere) by edges, then divided the pattern into cells and embroidered. I must say it took a very long time, I did it for almost a week... It took me even less to complete the entire roach, including development and rejected materials... Therefore, still try to find ready-made braid in the store =) Its size is 25x5 cm, the circle that on the sides - 6.5 cm in diameter. Of course it is difficult to buy. Therefore, you can leave it without a drawing at all (very often they do this - just a white circle), or draw this drawing with a felt-tip pen or something else.
This is how it came out of my floss (I later pulled out the tubes):

We sew it with threads to the hat, sew a round piece onto the ends of the braid so that the circle is slightly lower and touches the edge of the hat:

Below the braid, where we left 2 cm, we cross-stitch a strip of thick white thread (you can use a different color, but more often they do it in white):

Well, almost everything is ready! 2 feathers are sewn to the very top of the hat (where its top is pulled together), and 2 feathers are sewn on the temples, right in the center of the round piece. It would be good if the feathers were of different sizes and were on some kind of wooden beads. Or you can sew a large long piece of fur there. All this does not suit me, because... I will have a child tied in front who will tear it all off :(
Somehow like this. Here is my finished roach in all its glory:

Now, briefly about the suit itself. It's pretty straightforward. It consists of a cape-poncho in the shape of a square 120x120 cm with a noodle-cut edge and a hole in the middle. Since I need the child to fit there, I make an oval slightly offset to one side. Where the child is, the slot is wider, where my neck is, it is narrower. Cut the noodles as shown in the picture. Then it turns out to be long and beautiful in front and back =) I used canvas for the fabric. It hardly crumbles and has a beautiful natural color.

For the "skirt" you need 2 rectangles the size 55x45 cm (final size without hems), although the sizes here are quite arbitrary, a lot depends on the height and the clothes that will be under the skirt. We cut one of the edges at 45 degrees (I just bent the corner and cut it along the fold), cut it into 15 cm noodles. Bend the other side and stitch it, leaving room for threading the elastic. We thread the elastic band together, connecting both halves. Everything is ready =)

It also seemed to me that my chest was very open and boring, so I added a small bib made from a diamond with a hole.
Next you need to sew on a beautiful braid, which you can buy in the store. I didn’t find a beautiful matching braid in the store - they only had Greek or floral ones. Neither one suits me, so I decided to make it myself. To do this, I simply bought the cheapest red braid, 2.5 cm wide, and “embroidered” a pattern on it. I already have a lot of embroidery experience, so I decided to come up with a quick way. First, I sewed the braid where I needed it, and then took 2 threads - black and white and walked along the entire length with a simple zig-zag. In my opinion it turned out very well!

So, the parade took place!! Everything was great! But due to the fact that they promised rain, I played it safe and added a tomahawk-umbrella and terry on top of the rubber boots)) And here is the result!!

And here my beauty finally woke up and showed her cap made of threads and a body cap, because... Due to her age, her hair has not yet grown back =)!
