Food must be intended only for children and appropriate for their age category. If mother prepares dishes on her own, they should not be from the common table. On average, one feeding is 200 g of food, corresponding to 100-115 kcal.

Vegetables

The first thing a baby is fed at 7 months is homogenized vegetable purees. If a child is artificially fed, complementary feeding begins at six months, if he is breastfed - at 7 months. First, these are one-component semi-liquid purees from zucchini and broccoli, to which carrots, pumpkin and other healthy ingredients are later added. Complementary foods can be purchased ready-made or prepared independently. How to do this correctly?

  1. Wash the vegetable and cut into cubes.
  2. Boil in water until tender.
  3. Puree with broth in a blender until smooth.

You can store this dish in the refrigerator for 1 day, feed the baby starting with half a teaspoon, bringing it up to the daily norm of 150-170 g over 2 weeks.

Fruit purees are introduced 2 weeks after vegetable purees. These are also single-ingredient products, for example, green apple, banana. The daily norm of such complementary feeding is 70-90 g.

Porridge

First, a 7-month-old baby is fed dairy-free porridges: rice, buckwheat and corn. They do not contain gluten, to which one-year-old babies may be intolerant due to the immaturity of the digestive system. The finished mixture is diluted with water or vegetable broth to evaluate the reaction to the new product. After 2-3 days, if well tolerated, children are fed porridge diluted with breast milk or formula.

The daily intake of porridge for a 7 month old child is 150 g. It is better to offer it for second breakfast. If the baby is allergic and “artificial”, dairy-free porridge is fed for second breakfast and afternoon snack. On average, the consumption rate is 200 – 250 g.

After 2 weeks of adaptation to the porridge, butter or olive oil is added to it, 5 g and 5 ml, respectively. Animal and vegetable fats are a source of energy and building material for some tissues. The diet should contain equal amounts of both fat and protein, while there should be 3 times more carbohydrates.

Meat and eggs

These are difficult to digest food products, but at the same time the most valuable, as they contain a complex of proteins, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Meat is not only protein, but also iron, the deficiency of which causes anemia. If a child has low hemoglobin, they begin to feed them meat dishes as early as six months. Egg yolk is especially valuable for selenium and vitamin D.

Meat is introduced into the diet in the form of puree. It is preferable to start with rabbit and turkey as the most hypoallergenic and dietary products. If complementary foods are prepared at home, the meat is first boiled until fully cooked, and then chopped in a meat grinder or using a blender along with the broth. You should start feeding your baby at 7 months with 1 tsp. puree, bringing it to the norm of 30-50 g. Meat is given every day, like porridge and vegetable and fruit purees. The “artificial” person should receive a portion of meat 2 times a day, 25-30 g each. Later it can be combined with vegetables.

How and how many eggs can be given to a child at 7 months, abstracts:

  • 2 times a week, half a chicken yolk or a whole quail yolk;
  • protein is a strong allergen, it is not given to children under one year of age;
  • boil the egg until tender, dilute the yolk with breast milk or olive oil;
  • for the first time, the yolk is given to the child on the tip of a teaspoon;
  • If the baby refuses to eat an egg, it is added to vegetable puree.

Both meat and egg yolk are given for second breakfast or lunch - in the first half of the day, when all human organs and systems are working in active mode.

Dairy and fermented milk products

In its pure form, only breast milk is included in the diet. Cow or goat milk should not be given to children under one year of age, nor should they be used to make porridge. But fermented milk products are actively included in the menu. This is cottage cheese, butter, kefir.

Butter (5 g per day) and kefir are introduced first, followed by cottage cheese. Both kefir and cottage cheese are given 1-2 tsp in the first week. for second breakfast. If well tolerated, the volume of kefir is increased to 120 ml per day, cottage cheese - 40 g. The best time for digesting fermented milk is an afternoon snack. If after drinking kefir the baby has loose stools, in the first weeks its quantity is limited and offered at intervals of 1-2 days.

You can make cottage cheese yourself from low-fat kefir, bringing it to a boil in a water bath. Each time the cottage cheese is prepared fresh and not stored. Children are fed fermented milk products with cookies or crackers (about 10 g).

Other foods that are fed to a 7-month-old baby include bread (5 g) and fruit juice (50 ml). To form the right eating habits for your baby, each feeding should take place at the dinner table in a high chair. The baby is allowed to feed himself at the end of feeding, hold a spoon, drink from a mug or sippy cup.
