Lip products are my biggest passion. The number of lipsticks on the shelf tends to infinity, and it tends quite actively, regularly and variedly. New lipstick is my personal way of pampering myself. Lipstick rarely disappoints and does not ask for a lot of money. Lipstick loves you. However, with such a collection of lipsticks, I have very few lip care products because they very often do not suit me. Lately, I almost never let go of this copy, because it combines all the most beautiful things that can be in a balm and lipstick.

What I love the Yves Saint Laurent brand especially so much is that their jars/flasks/tubes/bottles give me real aesthetic pleasure. Does it ever happen to you that you buy powder because of the beautiful print in the refill? And the perfume because of the interesting packaging? And the shadows due to the unusual opening mechanism? I'm one of these maniacs. When you don’t seem to need it, but you just want it to lie somewhere nearby and please the eye with its appearance. This is where YSL usually delights me with their shapes, colors, and embossings. Why do I remember the Hollywood divas of the 40s. Something completely classic, timeless and timeless.

Let's return to the balm. Inside the golden box is a voluminous tube of a fairly standard appearance with a screw-on lid. The packaging itself is silver, shiny, and collects fingerprints. Under the neck there is a beautiful soft pink belt with a logo.

There is a transparent viewing window at the bottom. It is made in the shape of lips and allows you to see the color of the balm.

On the top of the lid there is a marking with the number and color of the shade. And what’s nice is that the shade is really shown very accurately. Often when you pick up a lipstick, you see a color marking on the bottom/top/belt of the tube, but it doesn’t match the shade of the contents at all. No such disappointments await you here.

By the way, the shade number is also indicated on the cardboard packaging. This is very important for those “attentive” like me, who swatch one shade in the store and bring another to the checkout.

VOLUPTÉ LIQUID COLOR BALM is a new addition to the YSL family. The balm with tint pigment is available in 11 shades, and the series also includes a moisturizing lip balm mask.

The official website of the brand has an excellent catalog of swatches of all shades. But I can’t imagine how many layers of balm you need to put on your lips to get such a rich color.

The applicator of the balm is made in the shape of lips. It is very soft and gentle. Running it over the skin of your lips is a real pleasure.

The limiter is not the tightest, but at the same time nothing unnecessary escapes from the jar (or is it just me being so careful, although unlikely, of course).

The balm itself is collected most of all at the tip of the applicator. I manage to first generously smear a small area of my lips, and then distribute it over the entire surface.

The composition is so large that it was missing one side of the box. And I really like it! There are many different oils - apricot kernel oil, shea butter, macadamia seed oil, jojoba oil (by the way, it is more correct to say jojoba, but this is too harsh on the ears), as well as Moroccan pomegranate and mango extracts and even coconut water. The composition is very rich and hints to us that this is first and foremost a balm, that is, a care product, and only then a little magic of colored pigment.

Due to the fact that this is a balm with a tint pigment, different shades will appear on different lips. I have rather bright lips, so the balm does not radically change their color, but only shades them. But how beautiful! It turns out to be a rather warm coral, but without red, but with a pink tint.

Let's talk about the smell. He is awesome! Sweet exotic fruits. It’s like I’m on a tropical beach, eating a mango straight from the bush, so to speak, and sweet aromatic juice flowing down my lips

It applies very easily and pleasantly, as I already said. Not too thick and not too thin, just the right consistency. It is evenly distributed over the lips and does not flow beyond the contour unless someone’s hand trembles once again. Does not emphasize peeling. I have rather prominent lips, and the pigment tends to flow into the wrinkles, but this is only noticeable in macro photography.

In the picture from the official website, my shade looks like a cool, dusty rose. And I decided that perhaps it was a matter of several layers. I decided to apply the balm, but it didn’t turn out very well. The bleeding became more obvious, but the shade essentially did not change.

Still, this is more of a skincare product than just another liquid lipstick. The balm takes very good care of the lips, they are moisturized and nourished. No cracks or nasty scales on the lips. And that’s why there’s no talk about super-fast color. The balm easily leaves the lips from any cup of coffee, but at the same time a light tint remains and the same feeling of moisture on the lips.

The warm coral shade works really well with my light summer wardrobe, so the balm completes my makeup almost every day. I fell madly in love with it for its color, smell and care. And there is one more bonus! I almost never wear my hair in a ponytail/updo/braid, so I absolutely hate any lip gloss that causes my hair to stick to it in the wind. So this balm is not sticky. No, it’s not overly sticky, it can sometimes catch a hair, but still this is the most non-sticky product with a similar texture that I’ve had since school.
