Master class on making a Christmas tree from tinsel in five minutes!

Today I want to share an idea for making a Christmas tree from tinsel. The method of making it is very simple and does not take much time, and the result, it seems to me, is obvious!

A preschooler of any age can make such Christmas trees, which is very important for us teachers!

To make a Christmas tree we will need: cardboard of any size for cones, tinsel of any color, multi-colored pieces of torn tinsel, glue stick.

So let's get started!

1. Roll a sheet of cardboard into a cone and glue the corner.

I wound several cones of different sizes at once.

2. Cut off the excess cardboard at the base so that the cones stand.

3. Cut off the top of the cone just a little and insert the end of the tinsel into the hole. We wrap the tinsel in a spiral around the cone. The end of the tinsel at the bottom of the cone is secured.

4. One, two and our Christmas tree is ready!

And then another one.

And another one!

And further! I wrapped four Christmas trees, barely stopped - how fast, easy and mesmerizing it is!

5. Now we decorate the Christmas tree. For this we need multi-colored pieces of tinsel.

6. We wrap pieces of tinsel around your finger and you get these multi-colored balls - decorations.

7. Use tinsel balls to decorate the Christmas tree.

And these Christmas trees are beautiful even without decoration!

These are the wonderful Christmas trees I got!

And last New Year I made such a Christmas tree to decorate the New Year's table. She wrapped a bottle of champagne in tinsel. Try it - it will be beautiful, unusual and with a surprise!

Many people notice that the older they get, the more difficult it is to re-experience that magical feeling of a fairy tale and miracle that always came to us as children on New Year's Eve.

But we're in website We are sure that the New Year's mood will not keep you waiting if you make one of these wonderful decorations for your home and Christmas tree with your own hands. Almost all of them, with the exception of two or three, do not require much time and any special materials - they can be made in half an hour from what is at hand.

Stars made of threads

Wreath made of balloons and an old hanger

In just half an hour, you can make a colorful wreath by purchasing a couple of sets of inexpensive balloons. Blogger Jennifer, the author of this article, recommends straightening out an old hanger, but if you don't have one, a piece of strong wire will do just fine.

  • You will need: a couple of sets of balls (20-25 balls of different colors and sizes), a wire hanger or wire, fir branches, braid or a ready-made decoration for decorating a wreath.

Tablecloth made of snowflakes

A delicate and surprisingly festive tablecloth will be made from snowflakes, which we have gotten our hands on since childhood. You can sit down and cut out snowflakes with the whole family, and then lay them out on the table and fasten them with small pieces of tape. A wonderful solution for entertaining guests or just having lunch with the family during the holidays.

Multi-colored hats

The cutest colored hats can be made from leftover yarn, which can be used to make a garland for a Christmas tree or to decorate a wall. Or hang them on a window or chandelier at different levels. Children over five years old will also be great at making this simple decoration. See details.

  • You will need: a roll of toilet paper for rings (or regular cardboard or thick paper), scissors, colorful yarn and a good mood.

Lamp “Snowy City”

For this charming lamp, you need to measure a piece of paper around the circumference of the jar with a small margin (for gluing), draw and cut out a simple city or forest landscape. Wrap it around the jar and place a candle inside.

  • You will need: a jar, thick paper of any color, maybe white, any candle. Another option is to cover the top of the jar with “falling snow” using a special “snow” spray, which is sold in hobby stores.

Balloons with photos

A great idea for decorating a Christmas tree or as a gift for relatives and friends. The photo needs to be rolled into a tube so that it fits into the hole of the ball, and then straightened out with a wooden stick or tweezers. Small black and white rectangular photographs are suitable, and you can also cut the photo according to the shape of a ball or silhouette (as in the case of a cat in the snow).

  • You will need: plastic or glass balls, photographs, various things to fill the ball - tinsel, garlands, coarse salt (for snow).

New Year's lamps

And this miracle is a matter of five minutes. It is enough to collect balls, fir branches, cones and put them in a transparent vase (or a cute jar) and add glowing garlands.

Embers

Glowing garlands, hidden among cones, branches and pine paws, create the effect of smoldering coals in the fireplace or a cozy fire. They even seem to be heating up. For this purpose, a basket that has been lying on the balcony for a hundred years, a nice bucket or, for example, a wicker container for small items from Ikea will be suitable. You will find everything else (except for the garland, of course) in the park.

Floating candles

A very simple decoration for the New Year's table or for a cozy evening with friends during the New Year holidays - a composition with candles floating in a vessel with water, cranberries and pine branches. You can use cones, orange slices, fresh flowers and leaves from a flower shop - whatever your imagination tells you. And as a candlestick - deep plates, vases, jars, glasses, the main thing is that they are transparent.

Snowman on the refrigerator or door

Children will definitely be delighted with this - it’s fast, fun and very simple, because even a three-year-old can handle cutting out large parts. It is enough to cut out circles, a nose and a scarf from self-adhesive paper, wrapping paper or colored cardboard and attach them to regular or double-sided tape.

Snowflakes on the window

Interesting use for a glue gun lying around. In order to glue these snowflakes to the glass, just lightly press them to the surface. For details see our video.

  • You will need: a stencil with a snowflake drawn with a black marker, tracing paper (parchment, baking paper), a glue gun and a little patience.

Christmas trees-candies

You can build bright Christmas trees with your kids for a children's party or decorate a festive table with them. Cut out triangles from colored paper or cardboard, attach with tape to a toothpick and stick the resulting Christmas trees into the candies.

  • You will need: Hershey's Kisses or any other truffle candies, toothpicks, tape, colored paper or cardboard with a design.

Garland with photographs and drawings

New Year, Christmas - warm, family holidays. And it will come in very handy with photographs, children's drawings, and pictures. The easiest way to secure them is with clothespins, which can be decorated with hearts or snowflakes.

Origami star

Painted spoons

Ordinary metal spoons or wooden cooking spoons are transformed into interesting New Year's decorations using acrylic paints. Kids will definitely love this idea. If you bend the handle of metal spoons, you can hang them on the Christmas tree. And wooden spoons will look great in the kitchen or in a bouquet with fir branches.

Snowman made from a sock

Everyone thinks about creating a festive interior on New Year's Eve. An undoubted attribute of New Year's decor is tinsel decorations. Of course, it is possible to buy them in a store or order them online, but it is much more pleasant and economical to make crafts from tinsel for the New Year with your own hands. Moreover, you can involve children in this rather exciting activity. This will only benefit them!

In the article we will talk about different options for crafts made from tinsel for the New Year, photos, videos and ideas of which we were able to find. But first you need to take into account several rules regarding safety precautions when working with this material. You cannot use tinsel products as lampshades for lamps with incandescent lamps. The bulbs become very hot and may cause a fire. The same prohibition applies to open fire. If you have pets or parrots, make sure they do not have access to the tinsel. Its use will clearly not benefit them.

Tinsel Christmas tree

Most likely, many families keep old tinsel. It may be damaged or tangled, so it is not used for its intended purpose. But you can always make crafts from old tinsel for the New Year. For example, make such a Christmas tree.

Christmas tree made of tinsel

You will need the following materials and tools:

  • Tinsel;
  • Whatman sheet;
  • Tapes;
  • Beads;
  • Cool gun
  • Scotch;
  • Scissors;

Manufacturing process:

From whatman paper you need to form a cone of an acceptable size for you. The size of the tree depends on the cone. The paper can be glued with tape or paper glue. Next, tinsel is wound onto the cone in tight turns and glued. Winding should start from top to bottom.

Now all that remains is to decorate with beads, ribbons, bows and other decorative elements. You can make flowers from ribbons or garlands from colored paper and place them on the Christmas tree. This elegant craft will perfectly decorate a room, placed on a windowsill or desk. It does not require a lot of time and materials to make.

Tinsel wreath

The New Year's wreath is a very beautiful, but at the same time easy to make part of the decoration. Usually it is hung on the wall above the fireplace or decorated with the front door, which right from the threshold symbolizes the cordiality and hospitality of the owners of the house. When creating crafts for the New Year, don’t be lazy to make a wreath of tinsel.

Tinsel wreath for the New Year

Prepare the following materials:

  • Tinsel (about 3 meters required);
  • Various Christmas tree decorations;
  • Satin ribbon;
  • Newspaper sheets;
  • PVA glue
  • Glue "Moment"
  • Double-sided tape;
  • Napkins or paper towels;
  • Scissors.

Manufacturing process

The first step is to make a ring. To do this, take a newspaper and roll the sheets into a tube. We wind it sheet by sheet to the length and thickness you need. We form a ring from the resulting tube and glue the ends together. Don't pay attention if you don't get a perfect circle - there will be an opportunity to make adjustments later.

Now we add volume to the ring by wrapping it in napkins or paper towels. For strength, coat the first few layers with glue.

We wrap the workpiece with ribbon or fabric, the color of which should match the overall color of the prepared tinsel. Do the wrapping carefully so that the areas not covered with tinsel on the finished product look neat and beautiful. If you plan to wind the tinsel tightly, then this step can be omitted.

Now the fun begins. Take the tinsel and attach one edge with tape to the ring. We wind the base with one tape at intervals so that we can lay a second piece of tinsel between the resulting turns. If you use only one piece, then the winding can be done immediately in dense turns.

The work is almost finished. All that remains is to add decor in the form of cones, balls, bows... here you need to build on the decorations you have in stock and your imagination. All elements can be secured with threads, wire or glue.

Now the wreath is ready to take its place on the door or wall and spread the New Year's spirit!
