Babies whose weight has approached 4 kg at birth are usually called heroes.

However, sometimes nature prepares surprises, in cases where this weight increases by one and a half to two times! A selection of the largest babies in history awaits you.

Javier Upton has become one of the heaviest babies born in Victoria.

Last year, Nadya Khalina was born in the maternity hospital of Aleysk, weighing 7 kilograms 750 grams and 56 centimeters tall.

The very next day, all the major news agencies in the world reported on the miracle child. Our newspaper also told about it ("RG" No. 221 of 10/5/2007). Eight months later, our correspondent again came to visit the famous baby and her family.

Almost nothing has changed since our first meeting in the Khalins' apartment. Thirteen people live in a three-room "Khrushchev". Nadezhda became the eleventh child in the family! Children sleep in pairs: separately older, middle and younger. Nadia's bed was placed in the hall, and it became even cramped, although there was practically no furniture in the rooms. All the free space is occupied by restless babies, packs of diapers, bottles and a variety of soft toys that little Nadia equally deftly throws with both hands.

When you look at this active girl, you can’t even believe that a few months ago the doctors feared for her life. She was initially diagnosed with heart disease. Every day, the parents carried the baby to the clinic for examination. Nadia ate very poorly, was bottle-fed, and a few months later the girl began to recover.

The most terrible diagnosis, fortunately, was not confirmed, - Tatyana Khalina sighs with relief. - The only thing that worries - the girl is losing weight. Now she weighs about seven kilograms. Honestly, now I don’t know if this is good or bad. She has some health problems, but doctors say that this is age-related and will pass with time. When the baby was full, she couldn’t even move, so it’s better to stay with a small weight for now.

According to doctors, eight-month-old Nadia is now lacking protein. Although the girl does not complain about her appetite - she eats porridge for both cheeks, eats mashed potatoes, cottage cheese and cookies with pleasure. He gets up on his own in the crib, crawls and smiles at strangers with his whole mouth.

At seven months, the daughter "disappointed" her mother. Her first word was "dad". Satisfied father was in seventh heaven with happiness.

Viktor Khalin serves in a motorized rifle division in Aleysk. Here he is called so - "father of the native." Fellow soldiers in every possible way support the father of many children, help with money. And he gave them advice on how to "stay in line" with such a horde of kids.

Nadezhda generally chases him, - Tatyana is jealous. - Hands and pulls, and to his mother goes only when the appetite wakes up. Nadya also likes to sleep without a pillow. She is so restless, alive - she "walks" on the bed at night, and by morning she is already lying across it.
With the birth of Nadezhda, the large Khalin family received a computer, soft toys, strollers, children's encyclopedias and equally necessary diapers as a gift.

We are not left without attention, - says the happy mother. - After the birth of Nadia, we were given a subsidy of 50 thousand rubles from the regional budget, and the Ministry of Defense allocated 10 thousand rubles for each child. Local authorities also help us - they gave school bags to the children, gave New Year's gifts.

Residents of Aleysk, especially at first, brought toys and children's things to Khalin, and the Euroset charity fund installed a huge playground-slide in the courtyard next to the house, which you will not see in the regional center. Children from all over Aleysk come here to play.

At the expense of the fund, Tatyana Khalina and her family visited the New Year tree in Luzhniki. Children still remember this trip as a holiday, with eyes sparkling with joy. For several days they lived in a luxurious hotel, dined in an expensive restaurant and went on guided tours of the capital with a guide. All this time, dad remained at home with baby Nadezhda - the commanders gave him days off.

The unusually large newborn Nadezhda Khalina has already been registered in the Russian Book of Records. The girl was assigned the serial number of the record holder, but her parents did not remember it.

We already know him, - mother Tanya dismisses. She will always be number one! The main thing is that the girl does not get sick and grows up to our joy. I hope that unusually high birth weight will not be her last achievement.

Sergey Dikarev, head of the head of the social protection department:

As of January 1, 2008, 10,900 families with many children live in the region, and 35.5 thousand children live in them. Including families with three children - more than nine thousand and 1800, in which more live. Today, 954 large families live in Barnaul, 539 in Biysk, and 235 in Novoaltaisk.

In 2006, the law "On additional measures of social support for large families in the Altai Territory" was adopted, which is aimed at strengthening additional measures of social support. It applies to large families (having and raising three or more children) with an average per capita income that does not exceed two living wages per capita, established in accordance with applicable law.

The Department of Social Protection is entrusted with providing assistance in acquiring a single social ticket for students of educational institutions, providing them with priority in the summer period of vouchers to children's health camps for them. In addition, there are 62 territorial centers for social assistance to families and children, regional crisis centers for men and women.

Specialists of these institutions also work with families with many children. Here, various specialists work with them: social educators, psychologists, narcologists, teachers of additional education. They provide various types of social services. There are family and teen clubs, schools for parents. In the summer, the children relax and improve their health in day camps. In this way, several tasks are solved at once: organizing children's leisure time, preventing neglect and delinquency, fostering a healthy lifestyle and involving parents in the process of social rehabilitation of children and families.

Families with many children who find themselves in a difficult life situation are provided with targeted material assistance, various campaigns are held with them, sponsors are attracted to provide the needy with the necessary children's clothing, stationery and food packages. In addition, the law of the Altai Territory approved the regional target program "Social Support for Poor Citizens and Poor Families with Children" for 2007-2010. It provides for the development of all types of social support for poor residents of the region and their accounting, targeted provision of benefits, subsidies and other social payments, as well as organizational measures.

By the way

The largest newborn in modern history weighing 10 kilograms 200 grams was born in Italy in 1955. In second place in the Guinness Book of Records is a baby from the UK, born in 1992 weighing seven kilograms.

Hi all! I am with you again and today we will talk about babies who have become record holders with abnormally large weight. So, as you may have guessed, the following question is on our agenda today: how much does the largest newborn baby in the world weigh? What wonders is nature capable of?

Newborn hero

With what weight normal full-term children, boys and girls, are born, everyone knows today. On average, this is 3 kg, plus or minus 500 g in both directions. But sometimes heroes are born, whose weight exceeds the average at times!

For example, in the Chinese province of Henan, in the city of Xinxian, a “baby” weighing 17 kg 400 g was born. The whole of central China gasped, and the city of Xinxian immediately became famous. The boy was given the name Chong Chun. Since he is the largest newborn on the planet, he was brought into.

Believe it or not, but quite medium-sized Chinese are the leaders in the birth rate of such “chubby ones”. From 2008 to 2011, three kids with a weight of more than 7 kg became fellow countrymen of Chung Chun! Our hero has a sister who was also born not with the smallest weight - 4 kg!

Even during pregnancy, the mother of the children noted some features of their intrauterine behavior. They are not as active and need more food. Therefore, the feeling of hunger in the mother was present constantly, the entire period of pregnancy. In addition, the load on the spine was very large, I had to lie more than walk. Well, and of course, pastosity or puffiness, as you like, haunted.

But not only the Celestial Empire has such glory. In Russia, too, there are strong boys. For example, in Altai. There, on February 29, 2012, in the village of Protasovo, a boy was born with a weight exceeding 7 kg (7850 g)! He is the record holder for large newborns in the Russian Federation. She gave birth to the hero Svetlana Titova, 42 years old. This is her ninth child. For the Titov family, this is a gift from God.

In the same region, on September 17, 2007, a girl weighing 7 kg 750 g saw the light! They named her Hope because they were waiting for their first child for a long time. Of course, there is a significant difference between 7 and 17 kilograms, but it's not over yet! The main thing: both mothers and children are alive and well, which is what they wish you.

Strong kids or is it difficult to give birth to a “hero”?

Everything would be just fine, if not for the numerous "buts" with such a pregnancy. The biggest danger for large-borns is diabetes mellitus. Its congenital form has a particularly malignant course, is inherited, requires insulin treatment from the very first day.

The "heroes" are more likely to have an allergy or individual intolerance to the components of many drugs, up to Quincke's edema. Large children from birth have weak muscle tone, that is, they risk acquiring neurological pathology.

And mothers who gave birth to such huge babies like them? Not very good. This is a huge physical and psychological burden on a very young woman. Try to endure such a burden yourself for 9 months. What will happen to your spine and joints? What about childbirth? Of course, cesarean! But this is an operation, and any operation is fraught with danger for both the mother and the fetus.

Set up an experiment for fun. Take a bag weighing 7 or 17 kg and try to wear it on your hands. How much is enough for you? But children need to be regularly fed, lulled, reassured.

The simplest thing that a woman can expect in such conditions is scoliosis. At worst, a herniated disc or reactive polyarthritis. I am not saying that it is unlikely that such a baby will be fed with breast milk alone. He will always miss him. Therefore, you will have to combine breastfeeding with mixtures. And this is additional material costs.

It is necessary to have, indeed, a strong character and willpower in order to feed and educate such a baby.

That's all! Until new publications and interesting records!

Multiple pregnancy is a phenomenon that has been thoroughly studied and described by modern medicine. Doctors pay special attention to women who are carrying twins or triplets, but they do not experience any surprise. Meanwhile, science knows cases of the simultaneous birth of four, five babies and even more. What is the largest number of children born by one woman in one birth and in a lifetime?

Mothers who became large families on the same day

According to worldwide statistics, one in 700 pregnancies in the world is quadrilateral. Carrying and giving birth to four babies at the same time is a serious test for the female body. Expectant mothers, expecting such an impressive replenishment, are observed by doctors with special attention. But even today, not all quadruplets survive and reach adulthood. One of the most famous foursomes is the Durst sisters: Callie, Sarah, Kendra and Megan. These girls are not just quadruplets, but completely identical twins. In addition, today they are real stars thanks to their own reality show. In fact, quartets are born all over the world not so rarely, but the appearance of four identical twins is a real sensation. In 2000, there were only 15 such quadruplets around the world. Curiously, most often twins in quartets are girls. The Guinness Book of Records not only notes the largest number of children born to one woman, but there is also a record of the oldest mother of quadruplets. California resident Mary Fudel gave birth to four babies at the age of 55. Unfortunately, the history of this family sad enough: one baby died, two were given up for adoption, and only one of the four is raised by his own mother.

Is it possible to have five children at the same time?

Known to science and cases of the simultaneous birth of five children as a result of pregnancies that occurred naturally. In 1934, five girls were born in Canada. All the twins grew up and reached adulthood, invariably remaining a landmark for their hometown. True, the sisters often said that such fame did not bring them happiness. In 2013, in Salt Lake City, a young mother gave birth to three girls and two boys at the same time. This is not the largest number of children born at the same time, but the fact that the pregnancy also occurred naturally is interesting. In 2016, in Odessa, Oksana Kobeletskaya, at the age of 37, became the mother of five babies at the same time. This mother of many children throughout her pregnancy, the doctors promised the birth of triplets.

Known cases of six and seven babies being born at the same time

To give birth to six children at the same time - is this possible with natural conception? It's hard to believe, but the human body is much more resilient than we used to think. Today, 14 gears live in the world. Many of these children were born as a result of natural conception. For the first time, the public learned about absolutely healthy six babies born by one mother at the same time in 1974.

Each family necessarily has its own largest number of children born at the same time. We used to be proud of relatives who gave birth to 2-4 children at the same time. But in the McCoy family, living in Iowa, in 1997, 7 babies were born at the same time. All children survived and are developing, but two of them have serious illnesses. Several more cases of semester birth are known. Such children appeared in 1998 with Khashi Mohammed Humair from Saudi Arabia. A similar case was recorded in Egypt, where Ghazali Ibrahim Omar, at the age of 27, also became the mother of seven babies at once. The woman claims that the pregnancy is natural, and she did not resort to artificial insemination.

Absolute records of motherhood

The first known case of the birth of eight babies at the same time was recorded in 1998. Nkem Chukwu, who lives in Texas, became happy. This case is unique in that the first baby was born and the remaining seven children were born only on the 20th of the same month. One of the eight babies died almost immediately after birth, and the rest reached adulthood. For many years, it was believed that 8 is the largest number of children born by one woman in one birth. In 2009, the most famous octuplets in the world were born. Their mother - Nadia Suliman - actively covers her unusual pregnancy and the process of raising babies in the media. To date, this case is the only one where all newborns survived. And yet, what is the largest number of children a woman gave birth to at one time? With this achievement in the field of motherhood, Maria Fernandez from India got into the Guinness Book of Records. At the age of 42, the woman gave birth to 11 boys. Natural childbirth took only 37 minutes, all babies are absolutely healthy.

How many children did the mother of many children have?

The largest number of children born by one woman during her life is 69. This record was set by a Russian woman, the wife of a peasant Fyodor Vasiliev in the 18th century. Between 1725 and 1765, twins were born to the heroine mother 16 times, triplets 7 times and quadruplets 4 times. Only two out of 69 babies died in infancy, all the rest grew and developed normally. The record set in the 18th year by the peasant woman Vasilyeva has not yet been broken. But there are other interesting examples in modern history. For example, in Chile at the end of the 20th century, Leontina Apbina gave birth to only 55 children.

Unique cases related to pregnancy and childbirth

Not all records in the category of multiple pregnancies end with stories of happy families with many children. In 1917, a case was recorded in Rome fifteen-fetal pregnancy. According to doctors, this phenomenon is a consequence of long-term treatment of female infertility. However, the record pregnancy was aborted. Recorded in world medical statistics and cases of simultaneous bearing of 9, 10 and even 11 children by one woman. In such situations, stillbirth is common and is high in the first days after delivery. To date, the largest number of children born by one woman in one pregnancy is 11. The Guinness Book of Records in this category includes the birth of Maria Fernandez, during which completely healthy and viable boys were born.

The birth of a child weighing more than 4 kilograms is a rather rare occurrence, but these babies have broken all records!

1. Jasleen - the largest child in Germany

In 2013, a child weighing 6.1 kilograms and 57 centimeters tall was born naturally. Baby girl Jaslyn was born at the University Hospital in Leipzig, Germany on July 26 and became the record holder for the largest size in the whole country.

Jaslyn's mother, it turned out, suffered from gestational diabetes, a condition that usually begins around the 24th week of pregnancy and can lead to unusually large babies.

2. Stephen Little is the largest child in Australia

Stephen Lyttle, who weighed 7,399 kilograms when he was born at Kempsey Hospital on January 26, 1963, was the largest child in Australian history. The average weight of newborns is 3.37 kilograms.

At the moment he is 50 years old, his height is the usual 186 centimeters, and his weight is also not much different from the norm - 97 kilograms.

3. Maxine Marin - gave birth to the largest girl in Spain

A 40-year-old woman from Britain gave birth to the largest child born naturally in Spain - a girl weighing 6.2 kilograms. Maxine Marin gave birth at 4:43 am local time at the Hospital Marina Salud in the Mediterranean city of Denia.

Larger babies were born by caesarean section, but Marin didn't even need an epidural (pain medication injected directly into her spine during labor).

Marin, who lives in Spain with her Colombian husband, said she was expecting a big baby, but "not that big."

4. George King is the largest child in the UK

The largest baby born in the UK is George King, born this year. The child weighed 7 kilograms, which is almost twice the average weight of a child.

There was no indication that George would be that big: both of his parents were of normal size at birth and, as adults, also do not differ in special height or weight.

George's size caused considerable difficulty for his mother, Jade. During childbirth, after the newborn's head had already left the mother's body, it got stuck. His relatively large size for a newborn meant that his shoulders couldn't go any further.

According to Jade, "then it became very scary" as almost 20 paramedics worked to release the child. In the end, George was born successfully and was transferred to another hospital for further observation.

5. JaMichael - the largest child in Texas

In 2011, Janet Johnson gave birth to a boy who came into the world with a weight of 7.2 kilograms, which is twice the average weight of newborns. Baby JaMichael was the heaviest baby ever born at the Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, and by some accounts the largest newborn in the entire state.

Johnson and her fiancé, Michael Brown, knew the baby was going to be big. Two weeks before the birth, which took place by caesarean section, Dr. John Kirk (John Kirk), gynecologist Johnson, said that the baby will weigh 5.5-6 kilograms. However, JaMichael surprised even the doctor.

6. Nadia Khalina

Nadia, who weighed 7.75 kg at the time of birth, is pictured in the maternity ward of a hospital in the Siberian city of Barnaul on September 26, 2007. Mother from Siberia made literally a big contribution to correcting the demographic situation in Russia. Tatyana Kharina shocked her husband by giving birth to Nadya, her 12th child.

7. Newborn weighing 8.7 kg from Indonesia

This four-day-old baby, weighing 8.7 kilograms, sleeps among medium-sized children at the Abdul Manan General Hospital in Kisaran, Asahan district, North Sumatra province. He was born on September 21, 2009. An Indonesian woman gave birth by caesarean section to a baby weighing the same weight as an average one-year-old baby.

8. Stephon Hendrix Louis-Jean (Stephon Hendrix Louis-Jean) - a newborn boy with a height of 58 centimeters

Marie Michel's fifth child held the record. In 2011, Michelle gave birth to a boy weighing 6.7 kilograms at the William Backus Hospital (William W Backus Hospital).

Hospital officials said the newborn, Stephon Hendrix Louis-Jean, broke the 18-year record for the heaviest newborn, beating the previous record holder by 822 grams. The boy's height was almost 58 centimeters.

The size of the child did not surprise the mother. Michelle's eldest son weighed 4 kilograms, her eight-year-old twins each weighed 3.8 kg, and the youngest, a three-year-old boy, almost 5.5 kilograms.

9. Ademilton dos Santos - the largest newborn in Brazil

In 2005, a Brazilian woman gave birth to a "giant baby" weighing 8 kilograms, twice the weight of an average newborn. Ademilton dos Santos, according to the Association of Gynecologists of Brazil, is the heaviest boy in the history of Brazil

Ademilton was born by caesarean section at a hospital in Salvador in northeastern Brazil. This is the fifth child of Francisca Ramos dos Santos and doctors believe the boy's unusual size was due to his mother's diabetes.
