The first knee-high socks were long socks or short knee-length stockings. They played sports in these socks. Later, knee socks began to come into fashion, and many interesting models began to appear, including longer than traditional ones - up to the middle of the thigh. And in addition to the sporty style, knee socks have penetrated into romantic images and casual style. In this material we will talk about how to knit knee socks using knitting needles in a selection of master classes with diagrams and a description of the work.

Conventions in circuit descriptions:
  • L/p. - front loop
  • I/n. – purl loop
  • Kr/p. – edge loop
  • P. - loop
Striped knee-high knee-highs.

This model is quite simple to implement and is suitable for beginners. Sizes: 36-37 (38-39).

To work you will need:
  • Yarn – 100 g turquoise and 100 g colored sectional dyeing (in 4 folds).
  • Knitting needles No. 2.5

The main pattern is knitted according to the pattern: For the first circular row - * 1 l/p, remove 1 p. with a double crochet as i/p, then repeat from *. For the second row - 1 p., 1 p. with double crochet as i/p. and so on. Alternate rows 1 and 2.

Front stitch - alternating rows of l/p and i/p. In circular rows only l/p.

We change the yarn every 4 rows.

Description of knitting stages:

We cast on 80 stitches on stocking needles, distribute them onto 4 knitting needles (20 pieces each) and close them in a circle. We knit 6 cm of the main pattern.

We knit the upper part of the shin using stockinette stitch, alternating turquoise and colored stripes. Every 6 rows we decrease 20 times in one loop (along the middle line at the back). For decreases, knit alternately the first 2 stitches of the 1st knitting needle together. and the last 2 sts of the 4th knitting needle together with a tilt to the left (= 1 st, remove like l/p, 1 l/p stretch through the removed st). 60 p. left.

Having knitted 140 rows (32 cm), we knit a straight heel with turquoise thread (as when knitting socks).

After this we move on to the foot. We knit all the loops in stockinette stitch and, as before, alternate the stripes. We decrease the loops to lift the foot until 60 remain. Foot length – 19 (20.5) cm.

We knit the toe with turquoise yarn. We knit the 4th and 3rd loops on the 8th end of the knitting needle together on the 1st and 3rd knitting needles, and also on the 2nd and 4th knitting needles the 3rd and 1 4th stitches together with a tilt to the left. Golfs are ready!

Long knee socks with an openwork pattern.

This model is more complicated than the previous one, but looks very attractive. The openwork herringbone pattern is suitable for those who are just starting to master openwork knitting. The finished work can be seen in the photo:

For knitting you will need:
  • Yarn – white (or another of your choice) – 200 g of mixed composition (wool and polyester).
  • A little (about 20g) polyester yarn for the heel - gray in this example.
  • Knitting needles - stocking needles No. 3.5.

The elastic is knitted like this: 2 l/p., 2 i/p. - alternate in the same way.

Front stitch - circular rows l/p.

Purl stitch – circular rows i/p.

We knit the openwork pattern according to the repeat pattern of 6 rows. In even rows - l/p. The pattern diagram looks like this:

Progress of work on golfs step by step:
  • We cast on 48 loops on the knitting needles and knit an openwork pattern (6 repeats horizontally). Vertically repeat the rapport 5 times. We redistribute the loops onto 3 knitting needles of 16, 15 and 17 pcs. We knit the first knitting needle in stockinette stitch, knitting the last loop twice (behind the front and back walls). Second needle – 3 l/p, 8 p. openwork pattern, 4l/p. Third – l/p. The result will be 49 p.
  • Having knitted 97 rows (42 cm), we redistribute the stitches onto 4 knitting needles, 12, 9, 16 and 12. The first and fourth stitches will be in stockinette stitch. For the heel we add polyester yarn. The heel is knitted using the “boomerang” method, when in shortened rows 1 stitch is left unknitted on each side, yarn over on the right needle. There should be 10 stitches left. Then elongated rows are knitted - transfer 1 loop on each side to the right knitting needle, tightening the thread tightly.
  • After knitting the heel, we move to the front stitch on all needles. After about 19-20 cm we begin to decrease. In the 1st row we subtract 3 stitches so that it remains. After 1 row at the end of knitting on the 1st and 3rd knitting needles we knit 2 stitches together like l/p. On the 2nd and 4th knitting needles, at the beginning we knit 2 stitches with a broach (we remove 1 as l / p, we pull 1 through the one that was removed). We repeat the steps until 6 stitches remain. Decrease in each row until 8 stitches remain, we tighten them with a working thread.

Trying to knit simple knee socks for a girl: a diagram with a description of the work

This work features white knee socks for girls, but you can also choose the color as desired.

The sizes of this model are 14-17. To work, you will need cotton yarn with the addition of lycra (2%), in total you need about 60 g. You also need a set of stocking needles No. 1.5.

The elastic is knitted according to the pattern 1 to 1 (alternating 1l/p and 1l/p). The main pattern here is also not complicated. You need to knit in a checkerboard pattern. In the diagram you will see only odd rows; even rows are knitted with knit stitches. Rapport 6 rows.

KNITTING GOLF SHOES.
On stocking needles, cast on 80 (90) 100 stitches and knit for the lapel 2 cm with an elastic band, 18 cm with a pattern with braids. Then turn the lapel and knit 1 row, evenly decreasing 14 (18) 22 loops = 66 (72) 78 loops (on the 1st and 4th knitting needles, 15 (18) 21 loops, on the 2nd and 3rd knitting needles with 18 loops).
Purl 1 row, then purl on the stitches of the 1st and 4th needles, and use an Irish stitch on the stitches of the 2nd and 3rd needles.
After 5 cm from the lapel, decrease as follows: on both sides of the Irish pattern, every 2 cm, knit 2 loops together purl 11 (12) 13 times = 44 (48) 52 loops.
After 33 (36) 39 cm from the lapel, knit the heel.
To do this, set aside the middle 24 loops of the 2nd and 3rd needles, on the remaining 20 (24) 28 loops, knit for the heel wall with straight and reverse rows of 5 (5.5) 6 cm in stockinette stitch.

After this, on the middle 8 (10) 12 loops, knit the straight lower part of the heel according to the general rules for knitting socks.
After this, on the side walls of the heel, cast on 11 (13) 15 loops on both sides and again knit on all loops in circular rows, while knitting the loops of the 1st and 4th knitting needles in stockinette stitch, 24 loops of the 2nd and 3rd knitting needles in Irish pattern.
To decrease the instep wedge, knit the last 2 stitches of the 1st knitting needle together in each 2nd row, and also knit the first 2 loops of the 4th knitting needle together with the knitting needle crossed until 42 (48) 54 loops remain.
After 19 (20.5) 22 cm from the middle of the heel for size 35/36, transfer the 1st loop of the 2nd needle to the 1st needle, as well as the last loop of the 3rd needle to the 4th needle, for size 42/ 42 transfer the last loop of the 1st knitting needle to the 2nd knitting needle, and also transfer the 1st loop of the 4th knitting needle to the 3rd knitting needle = 10 (12) each 14 loops on the 1st and 4th knitting needles, 11 each (12) 13 stitches on the 2nd and 3rd needles.
Then knit the toe in stockinette stitch according to the general rules for knitting socks.

LACERY KOLFS

The pattern motif - herringbone - alternates with triple diamonds. The golf eraser consists of openwork diamonds and a triangular ornamental strip.

For knee socks you need 250 g of cotton stocking threads, 5 knitting needles No. 1 or No. 1.5.

Sample 5 cm - 16 loops. The largest volume of the leg (lower leg) is 35 cm.

In order to know exactly the number of loops, knit a sample and determine how many loops are in 5 cm, then the volume of the leg is multiplied by the number of loops in one cm.

For example: (35X16): 5 = 112 loops.

You should also check whether the number of stitches you cast on is divisible by the width of the knee socks pattern. In this case, 3 different patterns are assumed, so you should check whether the loops of the patterns are divided by the number of loops being cast on. For example, the initial motive is divided into 8 (Fig. 425, A), 112:8 = 14 motives; the second motive is divided into 16 (Fig. 425, B) 112:16 = 7 motives; the main motif is divided into 36 (Fig. 425, B), 112:36 = 3 motifs (4 extra), which means that these 4 loops in the purl strip should be reduced throughout the knitting (2 loops on each knitting needle), knitting them purl together.

Since the openwork pattern of the knee socks is very large, the figure shows only the construction of the lace; after each row shown, one knit row should be knitted with knit stitches.

Such a large pattern at the ankle is very difficult to reduce, so the golf is picked up and started to be knitted on knitting needles No. 1.5. On these knitting needles they knit an openwork eraser and once the entire large pattern (96 rows), then knit on thinner knitting needles (No. 1) and, approaching the rhombus, in the widest places they additionally knit 2 loops together with the front one on each side. Another 96 rows are knitted on thin knitting needles and once again in the widest place of the diamond, 2 loops are knitted together with the front one on each side, so reaching the heel, 12 loops are reduced (2 times, in each row there are 6 loops). There are 24 loops left on each needle.

When knitting the heel, you should position the large pattern so that it is in the middle in relation to the heel (the center, which is shown in the figure, is on the front part of the golf).

Just like in previous knee socks, the heel is knitted on 2 knitting needles, the heel decrease is made on the same knitting needles on which the heel was knitted, only in this case, at the beginning of the 4th knitting needle, the first 2 loops are knitted purl, and then 2 loops are knitted together with removal, at the end of the 1st knitting needle, the third and fourth penultimate loops are knitted together, the last 2 loops are knitted purl. The lower part of the foot is knitted in stockinette stitch, the upper part is knitted in accordance with the pattern.

On the toe, the loops are decreased in the same way as in the previous case, with the only difference being that this time between the decreases there are 2 purl loops, not knit stitches.

Materials

Golf knitting is done with a thread consisting of 100% cotton. It is ideal if you purchase yarn, 200 grams of which contain 660 meters of thread. This yarn will require approximately 150 grams. In addition, it is worth stocking up on needles No. 2. Density: Before starting knitting golf, be sure to knit a small sample. This will give you the opportunity to make correct and accurate calculations of your future finished product and not make mistakes with the dimensions. In 10 centimeters of the sample, which is made with an openwork pattern, you should fit 28 loops.

Patterns worth mastering

1. Openwork drawing: follow the pattern that was given at the very beginning of the article. It is very important to pay attention to the fact that in the very center of each product you will need to make decreases and additions. This is done in all rows except the 7th.

2. Circular elastic: throughout each row we knit alternately 2 front and 2 purl loops.

Subsequence

Cast on 86 stitches with knitting needles. Carefully distribute all received stitches between 4 double needles. You will get 21 stitches on each needle. Please note that the change between p. occurs between the first and last spokes. We knit the first 4 cm with a circular elastic band. While working on the first row, you will need to add 2 more loops to the first knitting needle. Further work will take place on 86 loops. If desired, you can make any length of the elastic band. It is worth noting that the more rows in the elastic, the better the socks will stay on your feet.

Openwork pattern

After this, proceed to the openwork pattern. The first section of the pattern (A-B) needs to be knitted 3 times. That is, you will have 30 loops knitted with this pattern. Complete the next segment of the diagram (B-C) once, and after that repeat the very first segment of the diagram 3 more times. Further work is carried out similarly to this description. Only, as you have already noticed in the diagram, on the first segment you need to knit rows 1 to 14, and in the central figure, rows 1 to 7 are performed. Knit the next 15 centimeters with a straight fabric. And at the moment when the height of the base of the golf course reaches this figure, start decreasing. First, on both sides of the central pattern, you will need to remove 1 loop in the place where you knitted 4 purls. Afterwards, knit another 7 p. straight, and then repeat the same cuts in the same rows of the pattern. After all the cuts, you will get 2 purl stitches each. In the next 7 rows. You will also need to subtract 1 more loop on both sides of the central openwork strip in the place where you had 3 purl stitches. Make similar decreases again after the next 7 p. Finally, on the first and last needles, make contractions in three more spaces in the same way. After making all the decreases, you should have 64 stitches left in your work. These rows are again performed in a straight linen with an openwork pattern until the length of the golf reaches 38 centimeters. If desired, the length of the golf course can be changed to the size you need. After this, all the loops of the work will need to be evenly distributed among all the stocking needles (16 loops for each knitting needle). Please note that your central design should be placed in the very center of the front half.

Knitting heels

Now move on to perform the heel. To do this, continue knitting all stitches on the first and 4th needles in an openwork pattern. Set aside the stitches on the remaining two needles for a while. Now turn the entire work over to the wrong side and knit the heel as follows:

1st row: (wrong side of golf): remove the first loop, but do not need to knit it. Purl the remaining stitches. Turn the work over. 2 r.: (front side): remove 1 loop, but do not knit it, 1 front. Repeat until the end of the row. Turn the knitting over again. The heel is performed in a similar manner for the next 32 r. Do 1 p. wrong sides of the heel and proceed to decreases: on the right side, knit until 12 stitches remain. Yarn over and turn the work over to the other side. Then also remove 1 stitch, but do not knit it, purl 8, purl 2 together and turn the whole work over again. Remove 1 stitch without knitting and knit until 11 stitches remain on the knitting needles. Make a yarn over from the broach.

Knit a few more rows using the described method. As a result of the manipulations performed, the lateral points of the heels will gradually decrease. But note that the number of loops of the heel itself, that is, those that are between the outer ones, should remain unchanged and should be equal to 10 sts. At the moment when the side loops of the heel part end, all remaining loops must be divided by 5 sts into every knitting needle. On the third needle on the left side of the heel you need to remove 16 stitches and 1 additional stitch between the two needles. Tie the removed stitches, turning them over on the left side as you work. All loops on the second and third needles are made, as before, in an openwork pattern. And along the edge of the heel on the right, remove 16 stitches and 1 additional stitch between the third needle and the heel piece. Transfer all these loops to the five loops that you introduced into the work a little earlier. Knit the removed loops, turning them over, and then knit 5. loops on the heel.

You knit the loops on the second and third knitting needles in an openwork pattern according to the pattern, and knit the loops on the first and fourth knitting needles in a “knit stitch” pattern, at the same time making decreases in the golf toe. For the toe: at the end of the first knitting needle, perform the last 2 sts as one, and on the fourth knitting needle knit together. 2 first p. One r. will be intermediate with the same decreases. Make 1 more row like this. Then 1 r. with decreases, 3 intermediate rows without decreases according to the previous description and knit in a similar way until 16 stitches remain in the work. Moreover, we mean all the spokes. You need to knit the golf sole in a straight line until it reaches the desired size. In order not to make a mistake with its length, during the work, it will be necessary to periodically apply it to the foot. After you reach the length you require, at the end of the first and third needles, knit 2 stitches together. Make these decreases until 7 stitches remain. Now similar decreases must be made in each r. Finally, cut the working thread and pull it through the loops that remain. Fasten the thread to the wrong side.

To enhance strength, you can make several seams with a darning needle. Knit another golf course using the same description. This pleasant work on extraordinary golf socks has now come to an end. All you have to do is thread the satin ribbon through the openwork pattern in the first row after the end of the elastic. Wash finished products in warm water and dry them horizontally. If you completed the needlework easily, then we can only congratulate you. You can rightfully call yourself a professional needlewoman who can make any product.

(I knitted them for 4 days :)

Materials and tools:

  • 100 g of LIRA yarn (60% cotton, 40% acrylic, 50g/150m) - one 50-gram skein per 1 golf course,
  • circular knitting needles No. 3,
  • set of double needles No. 2.

Size 37-38

Knitting density: 20 p. x 31 r. = 10 x 10 cm

We will knit knee socks from top to bottom.

We start knitting with thicker knitting needles (circular number 3). We cast on 64 loops and knit in a 4 cm circle with a 2 x 2 elastic band (alternating 2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches).

Then we go to the main one:

It will turn out like this:

About 30 cm from the starting row, I switched the knitting to 4 stocking needles No. 2 - 16 stitches each (and knitted with the 5th working needle). Now our golf shoe will become a little narrower at the ankle.

Having knitted 14 rows in this way, we proceed to knitting heels.

Temporarily leave half the loops (32 loops from the 2nd and 3rd knitting needles) and continue knitting in stockinette stitch and on the loops of the 1st and 4th knitting needles (knit rows - knit stitch, purl rows - purl stitch .). We knit 20 rows in stockinette stitch.

We start in the next row decrease heel loops. To do this, we divide the loops into 3 parts (32 = 11+10+11): the side parts are 11 loops each, the central part is 10 loops. We knit the loops of the central part, and gradually decrease the loops of the side parts. We finish each row by knitting together the last loop of the central part (10th) and the first loop of the side (on the front side - 2 knits together, on the wrong side - 2 knits together).

When there are 10 loops left on the knitting needle, we finish knitting the heel. It will look like this:

and on the other hand - like this:

On the knitting needle on which we have 10 loops of the central part of the heel, we will cast on 10 stitches from the edge loops (see photo):

Then we knit loops in an openwork pattern on the 2nd and 3rd needles set aside. Then we again pull out the edge loops along the second edge of the heel onto the knitting needle. We distribute the loops on 4 knitting needles.

We continue knitting on 4 needles (on the 2nd and 3rd needles set aside - in an openwork pattern, on the 1st and 4th - in stockinette stitch).

Having reached the little finger, we begin to make decreases in every second row. To do this, on the 2nd and 4th knitting needles at the beginning of the row we knit 2 loops together, and on the 1st and 3rd knitting needles we make broaches at the end of the row. When there are 5 loops left on each knitting needle, decrease in each row. And after a couple of rows we close and sew the remaining loops.

These are the lace knitted knee socks I got:

PS: It turned out that they were slipping, I’ll have to sew on elastic bands :)

Happy knitting.

How to knit mittens with knitting needles

Crocheted summer mitts

size 38/39, thread 200m/50g, knitting needles No. 2

Start knitting socks from the cuff (top)

Cast on 64 stitches, distribute onto 4 knitting needles and knit the cuff in the pattern you like. We will consider the middle of the heel to be the beginning of the row (needle 1).
Having knitted the required number of rows, we begin to knit the heel on knitting needles 1 and 4.
Heel wall
The heel is knitted back and forth. It is recommended to knit all stitches from needles 1 and 4 on needle 1 - this makes knitting in reverse rows easier. Knit for all knit stitches, purl for all purl stitches. At the beginning of the row, remove the first loop without knitting. Work 32 rows in total, ending with a purl row.
Bottom of the heel
The bottom of the heel is worked in stocking stitch, knit for all knit stitches, purl for all purl stitches.
Row 1 (front side): slip 1 stitch, k15. - (middle of the bottom of the heel), k1, k2 together, k1, turn (no need to wrap loops to turn)
Let's call this loop the last one from which the work turns - (®)
Row 2 (wrong side): slip 1, purl 3, purl 2 stitches together, purl 1, turn.
Row 3 (right side): slip 1, knit. to last stitch (®), k2tog. (knit (®) and the next loop), k1, turn.
Row 4 (wrong side): slip 1, purl. to the last stitch (®), purl 2 together. (knit (®) and the next loop), purl 1, turn.
Repeat rows 3 and 4 until you reach the end of the needle. Finish with a purl row.

Lifting wedge
Knit to the middle of the heel. Start knitting again on 5 needles. Now you are at the beginning of knitting needles 1. Knit to the end of the heel. Raise 1 stitch from each slipped stitch along the heel wall. To avoid a hole between needles 1 and 2, pick up an extra stitch between two stitches in the corner. Knit needles 2 and 3 with the selected pattern. Needle 4: Pick up an extra stitch in the corner to avoid the hole, then pick up one stitch from each slipped stitch along the heel wall. Knit on the remaining heel stitches until you are again at the beginning of the circular row.
On needles 1 and 4 knit in stockinette stitch, on needles 2 and 3 knit in the selected pattern.
Decreases:
Decrements are made in each odd round row.
Needle 1: knit to last 3 stitches, pull through, k1.
Needles 2 and 3: knit with the selected pattern.
Needle 4: knit 1, knit 2 stitches together, knit to end.
Repeat decreasing on every odd round until there are 16 stitches left on needles 1 and 4.
Sole
On needles 1 and 4, continue knitting in stockinette stitch. On needles 2 and 3, knit with the selected pattern. We continue knitting until the little finger. Toe
When the foot reaches 20.5 cm (21.5 cm), begin to perform decreases for the toes. Decrements are made in each odd round row.
Needle 1: knit. to the last 3 loops, broach, k1.
Knitting needle 2: k1, 2 knit stitches together, knit. to the end Spoke 3: knit. to the last 3 loops, pull through, k1.
Needle 4: k1, k2 together, knit. to end
Knit in this way until there are 5 stitches left on each needle.
Knit to the end of needle 1.
Sew up the toe using a tapestry needle using a loop-to-loop stitch.
Hide all ends of the yarn.
